Do you want to test a new hair product? Do it right!

Do you feel like testing a new cosmetic for hair but you’re afraid that is won’t work? Perhaps you started tests with a new product but you are not able to assess how it actually works? Learn all about how to test new cosmetics correctly. Here are 6 rules that can help you do it right.

Many women have their proven hair products and are careful about novelties. However, in order to find those beloved products, you need to experiment a bit. The same thing applies when you have a need to introduce a new product because your hair needs change. How to do it right?

RULE NO. 1

Do not focus only on what is written on the label when choosing the cosmetic.

If you want your choice to be good, do not introduce any new cosmetics to your hair care if you know about the product only as much as it is said on the label. Read the composition and look for opinions to avoid buying something that only seemingly will work for your hair while it in fact will cause dryness or scalp irritation. Choose cosmetics wisely – in this simple way you will avoid shopping mistakes and you will increase the chance that new cosmetics for hair will be a perfect match for you.

RULE NO. 2

Test only one cosmetic at the time.

It is important to test only one cosmetic at the time. Only then you can observe how it works exactly. If you introduce two new hair masks and add a hair mist to it there is no way you can tell which one of the products worked. It is better to test cosmetics individually to be able to see what their exact action is.

RULE NO. 3

Do not finish the test of a new product after just one use.

If you planning on trying how the hair mask or hair oil you bought work, you need to prepare for a few weeks of tests. After just one use it is not possible to determine whether this cosmetic works or not because often the formula needs some time in order to start affecting the hair and scalp because it needs to penetrate the structures to work on the inside.

RULE NO. 4

Never use a new cosmetic before a big occasion.

The greatest mistake you can make is to use an unknown hair product before a big occasion. You cannot foresee how the given formula will affect your hair so it is better to start testing once you are sure that the next day there is no important meeting. It can happen that the hair mask or conditioner will make hair frizzy because its ingredients will not work for the hair. It is worth being prepared for such a possibility.

RULE NO.5

Follow the intended use presented on the label.

When using the product for the first time, you should follow the directions provided by the manufacturer. There is a good reason for why the hair mask is supposed to be left on for 15 minutes and not less – it needs time to start affecting the hair. When using new products accordingly to the intended use, you give them a chance to work correctly. If products won’t work in spite of the correct use that has been provided on the label, then you can honestly say that it is not effective.

RULE NO. 6

Give the new product at least two chances.

At the first try and a few times after when you used it the hair mask didn’t work? Give it a second chance. Don’t get discouraged right away because the product may not be at fault here but the use, how long you kept it on hair, and how much product you used. On your second try, test different options – use more or less of the product, enrich the product with a few drops of oil, apply it before the hair wash (instead of after), keep it a bit longer and/or make a sauna for hair with a warm towel. The options to try are plenty so give yourself a chance.
